The Leadership Governance Masterclass

A one in a kind MasterClass to build the capacity of Congregational Trustees for Governance & Board Development so as to improve mission focus, strategic alignment, executive performance, and board effectiveness of congregational ministries.

Be Certified as a Governance Trustee

Wholistic Leadership offers a one in a kind MasterClass to build the capacity of Congregational Trustees for Governance & Board Development. The MasterClass enables the Trustees to discharge the governors' primary duties to ensure the fulfillment of the mission of congregational ministries, to exercise fiduciary oversight of congregational ministries, and to steward their leadership wisely and well.

Certified Governance Trustees will help your congregational ministries focus on getting the right people, doing the right things, using the right tools, to get the right results – and have lasting impact on the communities they serve.

Being Certified as a Governance Trustee is a testament to the world that "I can discharge the governors' primary duties to ensure the fulfillment of the mission of congregational ministries, to exercise fiduciary oversight of congregational ministries, and to steward their leadership wisely and well."

The purpose of this program is to cultivate the governance effectiveness of Congregational Trustees to animate respective Congregational Ministry Boards to enable them fulfil their missions, achieve their goals, increase their impact, and extend their influence. An outcome of this program will not only be a core group of Certified Governance Trustees, but also a combination of systems, guidelines, and processes to be used to make decisions, hold decision-makers accountable, and act.

Program Highlights

Trustees have many functions; they should be guardians of the mission, ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements, and enforce ethical guidelines for Congregational Ministries.

They should be policymakers, fundraisers, ambassadors, partners with the ministry heads, and strategic thinkers.

They should monitor progress, evaluate the performance of the ministries and the ministry heads, and demonstrate integrity in everything they do on behalf of the ministries.

Because of their many roles, Trustees need more than enthusiasm for a cause, passion for a mission, or just good intentions. They need to understand all their stewardship responsibilities and perform all of their duties.

The Leadership Governance Masterclass is organized in three phases.

  • The first phase addresses basic governance tenets, roles, and structures.
  • The second phase establishes what it takes to lay the foundation for organizational effectiveness.
  • The third phase goes deeper and examines governance practices in depth.
