Formation in Wholistic Leadership for the Religious

Congregations, including the ministries they manage, are facing growing challenges of effectiveness in a rapidly-changing world. When asked what the root causes are, the most often given answer focuses on ineffective leadership: under-prepared leaders who are over-worked, isolated and intimidated by those who come alongside them in ministry.

What would change if we intentionally prepared a generation of leaders of character and competence who will inspire a shared vision in the institutions they serve, build alignment in their teams, and champion execution to translate the shared vision into reality?

Conventional or piecemeal leader development won’t address the complex challenges of leading today.
- Andrew Otsieno

This is what motivated us at Wholistic Leadership to create the Whole + Intentional Leader Development Masterclass, a comprehensive and integrated series of modular Masterclasses, that prepares leaders of competence and character to stay strong and resilient as they thoughtfully tackle the greatest opportunities and challenges in congregations and their ministries.

The Wholistic Leadership Masterclass is designed specifically to meet the needs of men and women religious being prepared for missioning or leadership assignments. We are intentionally preparing a generation of courageous and sacrificial leaders who will lead the way in reflecting light into a world where darkness is the default — a generation of leaders who will bring thoughtfulness, conviction, hope, resourcing, strategic thinking, and deeply rooted care to the institutions and people they serve.

The content, delivered Live-Online over one-year, is highly practical and concentrates on day-to-day realities. We follow a three-part framework to help you use your unique strengths to maximize your leadership potential. Leadership starts within, so we begin by helping you find the leader inside you. Then we focus on the relationships around you and how to build and leverage them for success. Finally, we look at the big picture and skills required for organizational leadership.

The teachers perform as coaches and mentors rather than just as expert information givers.

To assess the learning experience of the participants, portfolio assessment is used as an evaluation method. Portfolios represent a collection of a student’s work, reflection and comments over the one-year period and document “A Personal Leadership Growth Plan” that illustrates the qualitative change in the leader’s life.

What would your life look like if it were more whole? If you are currently in a leadership role or one day would like to be in one, enroll in the Masterclass and get certified as a Wholistic Leader. You will become more purposeful, supported, productive, confident, patient, effective, and creative.

Certified Wholistic Leader: A signal to the world that says, “I have found the leader inside me and know how to build a team, lead, manage, hold people accountable, and elevate organizational performance by translating vision into reality.”
